Pediatrician

Pediatrics is a branch of medicine dedicated to the physical, emotional, and social health of infants, children, and adolescents.  In addition to general pediatrics, there are several pediatric specialties such as oncology, neurology, surgery, and cardiology.

Like family physicians, pediatricians provide health examinations and practice preventive medicine.  They immunize children against infectious diseases, such as influenza, meningitis, measles, mumps, and chicken pox.
