Expansion Project

Why is the Nashua Center expanding?

The Nashua Area Health Center has been serving the medically underserved and uninsured in the Greater Nashua Area since 2000, providing access to quality, affordable health care.

Due to 27% growth in patient demand from 2008-2010, Lamprey Health Care was awarded a $2.15 million American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Grant by the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) to support a facility project that would increase patient access to affordable health care and enhance health care delivery.

Overcrowded Facilities

Our current location offers our patients 8,500 sq. ft., and due to the increase in demand for service over the past two years, we have outgrown our capacity to meet the needs of the Greater Nashua Community and uninsured.

Uninsured Children and Families

The Nashua Center’s target population is the uninsured, the low income and the minority families, individuals and children.  Over 55% of Nashua’s patients are uninsured and 84% are below 200% of Federal Poverty Guidelines.   It is our mission to serve the medically underserved and uninsured residents of our communities by providing access to affordable health care for everyone - regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay.

Expanding to Meet Nashua’s Needs

The new Nashua Center will be located at 22 Prospect Street, the former Home Health & Hospice building.   This extensive renovation and expansion project will provide an additional 7,000 sq. ft. for increased access to afford health care, enhanced care delivery, and additional programs and services.
