Newmarket - On May 17, 2010, at the Lake Morey Resort in Fairlee, VT, Alison Bristo and Maura Carriel of Lamprey Health Care, along with nineteen other health center professionals received Bi-State Primary Care Association’s Leadership Development Program Certificate in Community Health Leadership.   Maura Carriel is a Registered Nurse at Lamprey Health Care’s Newmarket Center, and Alison Bristo is the Customer Service Supervisor at Lamprey’s Nashua Center.

Bi-State Primary Care Association created the Leadership Development Program to provide emerging and evolving leaders with the skills, knowledge, confidence and relationships they need to be effective primary care leaders in Vermont and New Hampshire’s increasingly complex, competitive, and demanding healthcare environment. The seven-session Leadership Development Program ran from October 2009 through May 2010 at different host locations in New Hampshire and Vermont. Taught by national experts in each field, the program focused on skill building in financial management, workforce recruitment, advocacy, critical knowledge acquisition, relationship development, and peer-to-peer networking. “As we embark on health care reform, it is critical to nurture and mentor our emerging leaders so they have the knowledge and skills to influence and participate in the design and delivery of a new health care system,” said Tess Stack Kuenning, executive director of Bi-State Primary Care Association.

Bi-State Primary Care Association along with Lamprey Health Care was pleased to present both Alison Bristo and Maura Carriel with the Leadership Development Program Certificate, as it serves as a true testament to their personal vision, hope, and energy for making a leadership contribution to ensure health care for all.
