Newmarket – Ann Hathaway Peters, CEO of Lamprey Health Care, was recently recognized for her 30 years of service and leadership in community health care.
She was recently awarded the Cornell Scott Excellence in Leadership Award for her outstanding service and lifetime commitment to improving the health and welfare of America’s medically underserved. The Cornell Scott Award is presented to individuals for exceptional primary health care management and service to the underserved population by the National Association of Community Health Centers.
Ms. Peters was also recently recognized by The Geiger Gibson Program in Community Health Policy at George Washington University for her 30 years of leadership on behalf of health centers and medically underserved populations. Established in 2004, The Geiger Gibson Program in Community Health Policy, which honors Drs. Jack Geiger and Count Gibson, pioneers in community health and tireless advocates for human rights, celebrates the nation’s community health centers. Individuals recognized by The Geiger Gibson Program in Community Health Policy are among the nation’s leaders in community health policy and practice. In 2008, Ms. Peters was a Geiger Gibson Distinguished Visitor in Community Health Policy, a program that provides an opportunity for leaders in the community health field to come to GWU's Department of Health Policy to work with the students and faculty.
Lamprey Health Care is a nonprofit community health care organization with medical centers in Newmarket, Raymond and Nashua, New Hampshire.
