Each pediatric patient at Lamprey Health Care, from 6 months to 5 years of age, receives a new children’s book at every routine check up to help encourage early literacy among children with their families.

Health Programs

Breast & Cervical Cancer Prevention Program (BCCP)

The Breast and Cervical Cancer Prevention Program is a state-funded program that provides free breast and cervical cancer screenings to women between the ages of 18 and 65 years, who meet the eligibility requirements.  The BCCP Program offers patients breast exams, mammograms for those women over 40 years of age, pelvic exams and pap tests.  It also offers a range of diagnostic services, such as diagnostic mammogram, breast ultrasound, surgical consultation, aspiration of breast cyst, breast biopsy, stereotactic biopsy, and colposcopy.

For more information or to see if you're eligible to enroll, please call our BCCP coordinator at 603-659-3106, ext 7372 for Newmarket and Raymond patients, and 603-883-1626, ext. 7162 for Nashua patients.  You can also visit the NH Department of Health & Human Services website at http://www.dhhs.state.nh.us/DHHS/CDPC/bccp.htm.

Transportation Program

Lamprey Health Care offers its patients transportation services at all 3 centers.  For our Newmarket & Raymond Centers, the Senior Transportation Program provides transportation services to the elderly and disabled residents of Rockingham County and parts of Strafford Counties.  Transportation Services include trips to medical appointments, banks, pharmacies and grocery stores, as well as shopping trips to the local malls, and recreational trips for social outings.

For our Nashua Center, LHC utilizes taxi vouchers to address the needs of our Nashua Area prenatal patients, as well as though patients under 2 years of age, to ensure that an appointment is never missed.

School-Based Dental Program

Lamprey Health Care's School-Based Dental Program visits 9 elementary schools, providing oral hygiene instruction, nutritional counseling, dental hygiene education and preventative care management tips for the children and the teachers, and reinforces the program with oral screenings and cleanings, fluoride rinses, and sealants if necessary.  Working with area dentists, the School-Based Dental Program is able to provide referrals for children so that they have proper follow up care in their new dental home.

Nutrition Programs

To help our communities maintain healthy lifestyles, we offer a wide range of programs for the community that focus on the importance of healthy foods and exercise, such as Nutritional Cooking, Basic Yoga and Senior Fit, as well as onsite diabetes education & management, nutrition education & management, and substance abuse counseling if needed.

Reach Out And Read

Lamprey Health Care participates in Reach Out & Read, an early literacy program that promotes reading, education and a lifetime love of books. Each pediatric patient at Lamprey Health Care, from 6 months to 5 years of age, receives a new children’s book at every routine check up to promote the importance of early literacy with our young patients and their families.

When the child’s doctor “prescribes” reading to the child, it reinforces its importance to the parent and validates the doctor’s aspiration for the child to be a learner.  The doctor gives the child a new developmentally and culturally appropriate book at every check-up from six months to five years of age.

Annual Holiday Programs

Lamprey Health Care participates in a variety of holiday programs and drives, to help bring the spirit and warmth of the holiday season to individuals and families, including food drives during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, winter clothing drives, and many other holiday drives.

Operation Santa

Since 1981, Lamprey Health Care's annual holiday drive program, Operation Santa, provides clothing and toys to children & families in the community who are less fortunate than others in the Newmarket & Raymond areas.  Each year, local organizations, businesses, and individuals come together during the holiday season for the sole purpose of bringing Christmas to all of our children.

Health Fairs & Expos

Lamprey Health Care participates in community wellness fairs held at our local schools, teen centers and other community venues to help provide our children and their families with tips and resources for keeping their family healthy.  Lamprey Health Care Staff also attend larger health fairs designed to educate the community about health care topics, services and products.
