Staff Spotlight – Samantha Carpenterie

Samantha Carpenterie

This month, we meet Samantha Carpenterie, RN, BSN (she/her), Nurse and Diabetes Educator Mentee at the Raymond Center. Sam is training with Lamprey’s Certified Diabetes Educator, Tracy Tinker and will be sitting for her exams, soon.

Tell us a little about yourself. Where did you grow up? How did you get here?

I grew up Raymond, NH and continue to enjoy this town. I have been interested in healthcare and involved in the community as long as I can remember. Growing up, my family was always involved in the Fire Department and Ambulance service. I have always been surrounded by public service and couldn’t wait to have my own role in supporting my community. I have been a member of Raymond Ambulance since I graduated high school. I find myself loving Lamprey Health Care because it allows me to give back to the people of my surrounding community.

What do you like most about working at Lamprey Health Care?

I love the collaboration between the teams including providers, nurses, community health workers, social workers etc., allowing us to better serve each and every patient. I love being able to help a person, even over the phone, and the feeling that I was able to give to them what they needed to hear.

Did you always want to work in healthcare? What would you do if you weren’t doing this?

I have always worked in healthcare! I became an EMT (currently) in high school. Then became a Medical Assistant and worked in Orthopedics. Next I became a nurse and worked at Exeter Hospital’s emergency room, and now I’m at Lamprey Health Care training to be a Certified Diabetes Educator. If I weren’t in healthcare, I legitimately have no idea what I would do, my entire background is in the medical field. Perhaps I would work with kids who have disabilities, giving them a better quality of life by taking them into the community to do fun things.

What are some of your favorite things to do outside of work?

I like to hang with my kiddos and my husband. I am a mom of 3 wonderful kids; Addie, Luci, and Carter.  I enjoy taking rides with my husband on the motorcycle to the ocean, hanging with my friends, and getting caught up on life around a fire.

What advice would you give to others to be healthy?

Take care of your body; it’s the only one you have! Stay active.
