Staff Spotlight: Marnie Berdeen

RN

Pronouns: she/her/hers

LHC: Tell us a little about yourself. Where did you grow up? How did you get here?

Marnie: I
grew up in Avon, CT.  I returned to CT after graduating from college and lived there until moving to Goffstown, NH in 2007.  The move was related to my husband’s work. We have enjoyed living and raising our two children here very much.

LHC: What do you like most about working at Lamprey Health Care?

Marnie:
I came to Lamprey about a year ago from long term care.  I have enjoyed learning about a new area of healthcare.  I like the support and team work of co-workers, at all levels.

LHC: Did you always want to work in healthcare? What would you do if you weren't doing this?

Marnie: I have always had nursing in the back of my mind.  I got my RN after moving here to NH.  Nursing is my second career so I am doing what I would like to do!

LHC: What are some of your favorite things to do outside of work?

Marnie:
I like to be outdoors, kayaking, walking and hiking are favorite activities.  As the rail trail system expands in the state, I hope to explore the trails by bike (or by foot).

LHC: What advice would you give to others to be healthy?

Marnie:
Aside from the usual -- drink water, get exercise and eat a balanced diet, I would  say – enjoy the little things in life -- bake cookies, play board games, explore a road you have never gone down (literally)-these activities can make my day!
